Barbados mass warning hazards come from landslides. Scotland District the northeast part of Barbados is where land sliding activity occurs the most. Reports describe soil sliding which suggests landslide movement. Earth flows, slumps, and debris flow are the main landslide types present in the Scotland District.  Landslides occur on upper, steep slopes, v-shaped valleys and sharp-crested ridges. Land sliding in the Scotland District is directly related to the response of clay present in the Joes River Formation and Scotland Beds. Economic impacts attribute to landslides are limited to the Scotland District. Roads within the Scotland District incur damage where undermined by failing slopes and blocked by displaced slide material. Agriculture is the other primary economic impact. Ground, cracking, scarps, and gully development are some of the consequences of landslides which renders land unusable for farming. According to Nation News Caribbean should prepare for landslides and flooding. 2016 Hurricane season; Caribbean should prepare for the risks of landslides and flash floods. Adrian Trotman, an Agro meteorologist and chief of Applied Meteorology and Climatology at CIMH, states “recent advances in climate forecasting services for the Caribbean now means that government planners and other bodies can make important decisions based on seasonal forecast from three to six months in advance”. Noted in the Nation News, “we know that advance warning of an extreme event like a hurricane can help us to be more prepared”. By Barbadians being aware of forecast it ensures that they be safe and retreat to a safe place. Another outlet Barbados take actions to alert Barbadians is by holding press conference to discuss forecast in Caribbean and being able to help the regions of six climate sectors; agriculture, disaster management, energy, health, tourism, and water. Being able to prepare and adapt to the expectations of the climate expectations are.
